Burbage Surgery - Dispensary

Dispensaries are located at the main surgery and at Wolvey Surgery and are for the use of the patients who live in outlying villages only e.g. Wolvey, Burton Hastings, Sapcote, Sharnford etc. Any patient who is on the dispensing list and attends the surgery for an appointment can obtain their prescription at that time. The doctors who take the rural surgeries also take a supply of drugs with them for dispensing at these times. If you are severely disabled and unable to go to a chemist you can apply for the doctors dispensing service.

To obtain a repeat prescription from dispensary, please forward your repeat medication request slip to either Burbage or Wolvey. In case of query, please ring the dispenser. on 0844 477 1883 at Burbage or 0844 477 1889 at Wolvey. Again 48 hours notice is required. The pick up point for the prescriptions can be either at Burbage, Wolvey, Sapcote, Sharnford or house call. This can be arranged with the dispenser.

	2.00 pm. - 6.00 pm
Wolvey	8.30 a.m. - 12.30 p.m. Tue, Wed and Fri
	2.00 pm. - 6.00 pm. Mon and Thurs

NHS Direct is a 24 hour telephone helpline. The helpline is staffed by nurses who can help reassure you and give you telephone advice and health information. Anyone can ring NHS Direct at any time for health advice.

If you feel that there is something wrong with you or someone you are called about, a NHS Direct nurse will be able to help you and:

- tell you whether the symptoms can be managed safely at home and advise you on what to do to treat yourself or the person you are worried about.

- advise you if you do need to seek further help from a medical professional and direct you to the right service. In an emergency the nurse can also transfer you directly to the ambulance service.

NHS Direct is staffed by experienced nurses who are especially trained to give advice over the phone. They will ask you a series of questions which will help them decide how serious your problem is.
